Homeschooling and Educational Consistency

If you’ve ever considered the pros and cons to homeschooling, you’ll know that it’s easy to find a lot of myths surrounding it. This often skews our perception of the many benefits. It’s important to recognize all of the amazing reasons homeschooling is an excellent educational choice for our children.

One of the greatest advantages and benefits to homeschooling is the ability to provide consistency in education for your child. A single lead teacher, flowing throughout the grades with a student, gives the advantage of knowing exactly what the child has or has not learned and the opportunity to bridge over any potential gaps in learning.

Regardless of whether you choose to utilize outside input into your child’s education, such as tutors, homeschool cooperatives, online classes, or any other sort of resources, you get to remain in control of what your child is learning and ensure that their education is consistent in numerous ways.

You may find that a consistent schedule that meets your child’s needs provides smooth transitions between seasons of life. You might also find that the consistency provided through subject matter means fewer gaps or topics that have been missed due to differing curriculums or differing instructors. You may even notice that your child is better able to thrive knowing exactly what to expect from the educational approach.

Consistency is one of the best ways to help your child succeed, and homeschooling is one of the best ways to provide that opportunity.

The Dr. Annise Mabry Foundation is dedicated to improving our community by enhancing education opportunities, promoting synchrony between law enforcement and constituents, and encouraging community engagement. Our programs and initiatives include the Southwest GA Community Policing Resource Center and the Tiers Free Academy, a homeschool cooperative for students in grades 9-12 that provides an alternative diploma program for homeless LGBTQ youth, sex trafficking survivors, and high school dropouts.
